New Procurements

I'm pressed for time at the moment so let me just throw out a dignified *squee* up about The Blinding Knife by Brent Weeks and call it a day. Expect a quiet week here.

  1. I would squee for the Twenty Year Death over Weeks... never understood what people see in Weeks or his work... I've read the Night Angel Trilogy as well as The Dark Prism )or whatever it's called) and found it all thoroughly mediocre. The only part of his tales I really found interesting was the cool colored glass (?) wall that was built around that city at the end of the Dark Prism, with the moving holographic images embedded in it, etc. That's it.

Ah, well, to each his own, I suppose...

  2. I'm interested in The Twenty Year Death as well, but that is a work where I feel I need to read the inspiration first.

When it comes to Epic Fantasy this year I've rarely been able to get myself in the mood, but Weeks usually does it for me.
