Coming Attractions and Updates

It has been awhile since I did an update so I thought I'd get to it.  But first here is the cover to George Mann's Ghosts of Manhattan coming from Pyr next year:


Which Lou Anders has called on tor.com  "a 1920s steampunk superhero tale set in an American metropolis evolved forward from the classic 1890s Victorian steampunk setting. Picture a Shadow/Batman-like masked avenger in a world of coal-powered taxicabs and biplanes and you’ve got it."

Looking Forward:
  • An interview with a couple characters from a recent Steampunk book I've reviewed. Knowing the author and characters I think it will be a real hoot.  This should be up next week and I'd love to do more interviews like this in the future.
  • Paul McAuley author of The Quiet War (reviewed here) will also grace us with his presence for an interview in the next couple of weeks.
Updates:
  •  I've updated my So Much Steampunk, So Little Time article for those interested.  I'm planning a bigger update late in the year with more forthcoming titles.
  • The Review Index has also been updated.  Links to the interviews have been added as well.
  • The look of my Subscribe To Me area in the upper right has also been made to standout a bit more after a friend mentioned why I didn't have an RSS feed.  Well, now it is hard to miss.
Also, just a reminder that the contest for The Golden City is open for 2 more days.  I'm working on another contest as well that I hope will come through shortly if the Publisher agrees.

    I'm a bit confused. I sent a pre-order to amazon.de for Ghosts of Manhattan by George Mann. Publisher is Snowbooks and the cover is completely different. Have a look: Ghosts of Manhattan at amazon.de

    @edi Snowbooks is the UK publisher for Ghosts of Manhattan as they are also the publishers of the Newbury & Hobbes series in the UK. I like both covers though. Lou Anders actually mentioned that he and George came up with the idea together since they wanted to work together. So with our Lou and Pyr we probably wouldn't have Ghost of Manhattan.

    Thank you for explanation.
    I'm not that familiar with relations of authors and their publishers in different countries.
    I live in Germany and for me it doesn't matter whether a book is from a publisher in UK or US. Most important for me is where the book is released first. I noticed that there often is gap between UK and US release dates of books.
    I hope you understand that I don't buy a book twice because it is published with two different covers.

    In case of Ghosts of Manhattan I prefer the cover by Snowbooks because it is in the same style as the Newbury & Hobbes books which I like a lot.
